Women Development Programme:-
Women have a major role to play in Rural Development. In an attempt to reduce he drudgery of women and to increase the quality of life in general, a number of initiatives were undertaken according to the needs felt and expressed by women from various Rural areas. Several activities like improved cooking devices; non-formal education, kitchen gardens, toilets and health camps were undertaken involving 72 women. Besides, 32 Income Generating Activities like rearing of cows & goats, poultry and certain others have undertaken and more effort have been made for women promotion activities.
Income Generation Activity Training:-
In the view to develop the women of the rural areas, certain activities have been initiated and implemented. To develop the community of the village, the women have to play a major role. The women of the village were given training in various Income Generation Activities, which would help them increase their status and add towards the income of the family. Some the women through SHGs and with the help of the training programme have started Grocery shop, vegetable shop and kitchen garden, saree sales goat rearing, poultry, etc.
Mahila Melava:-
A Mahila Melava was organized on International Women’s Day i.e.8th March, 2007 at Junnar. This gathering was open to all and saw the participation of about 3000 women, many of whom belonged to non project villages. The objective of the gathering was to expose the mainly tribal women from project villages to women from different backgrounds and hence foster experience sharing and confidence building. 1350 women from project villages attended this gathering
